a better bicycle?
If there is one thing that the world desperately needs, it is another blog.
So, this is going to be a place where I dump my admittedly half-baked ideas about life. Like:
- computers are wonderful, but they are also unnecessarily complex
- it’s ridiculous that economists believe people make decisions based on ‘maximum utility’
- the interconnectedness of our world is its greatest strength and greatest weakness
Let me start with this thought….
One of the most critical decisions a person must make when creating a new thing (product/artwork/whatever), is the decision on what to leave out. It is the responsibility of a designer to focus his/her creation so it satisfies a specific purpose, clearly and reliably. We don’t need any more features on our phones. More choice just makes us more unhappy.
The last thing we need is a bicycle that makes us steer both wheels.
